Crypto card fees — does 0% really mean zero?

'0% fees' does not mean the real cost is zero. Costs can arise at every step money moves: top-up, crypto conversion, FX and spread, payment, foreign payment and ATM.

As of 11 October 2026

Six places costs arise

Look at what finally leaves your pocket, not the 0%.

  1. Top-upA fee may apply when loading the card (e.g. Anytap 2%).
  2. Crypto conversionConverting volatile coins creates a sell spread (e.g. KAST sells volatile coins on deposit).
  3. FX / rate appliedPaying in a currency other than the card's base adds FX fees and spread (KAST non-USD 0.5–1.75%, Ether.fi 1%).
  4. Card paymentCheck the payment currency and how the rate is handled.
  5. Foreign paymentOverseas merchants may add a fixed fee (e.g. Anytap 1% + $0.30).
  6. ATMCash withdrawals have their own rate and minimum (KAST $3 + 2%, Anytap 2% min. $1).
